Seniorit ilman Rajoja – Seniors without Borders – is a charitable association

• which does not age-discriminate
• which takes advantage of the experience,
  knowledge and skills of its members
• whose activities are based on voluntary
  work
• whose members themselves choose the  
  targets of benevolence

The baby-boomers are now retiring. They are leaving long and often demanding careers. Many of them are still in good physical and mental condition and are now thinking of what to do in their new phase of life. Travelling around the world, playing with grandchildren or pottering around the house does not satisfy everybody. Many of them wish to put into sensible use the skills and experience they have gained through the years. Seniorit ilman Rajoja (SiR) is an organization which steers the resources of its members to aid those less fortunate.

In 2006–2007, SiR has assisted several persons whose homes were destroyed in fires. Household supplies and clothes were collected and all kinds of help was given to set up their homes. A children’s home in Estonia is a current project. Donated clothes and supplies are being delivered to the home in several batches by the members of SiR.

SiR is based on the same principles as the Danish Seniorer uden Grænser (SuG) – www.seniorerudengraenser.dk  – which was founded in 2004. SuG is carrying out several projects in various parts of the world. The Seniors without Borders (SwB) was started in England in 2006. Similar associations are being organized in France as well as in Lithuania. SiR has close cooperation with all of these sister associations.

SiR is unaffiliated with any political party or spiritual organization. It was entered in the Register of Associations of the National Board of Patents and Registration of Finland in April 2006.

Do you want to help us help? All assistance – big or small – is greatly appreciated. You can support us in many ways, for example by donating clothes, articles and household goods no longer needed by you. These will be delivered in person by our members to those in need or sold at flea markets to raise funds for our projects.
